Staropramen: Brewing up a blockbuster

In the Czech Republic, beer and film go hand in hand, both built on craft and expertise, and Staropramen brings both together like no other. But how do you fit Staropramen’s brewing mastery, a love of film and a promo for a movie night with pizza all onto one can? That was our challenge – designing a limited-edition can that combined Staropramen’s passion for beer and cinema without overcomplicating things. The result is to create
a visual story arc that connects all together.
Much like a film itself.
Design meets motion
Film tells stories, and so does our illustration. We worked closely with
UK’s renowned illustrator Peter Greenwood whose unique approach brought a cinematic flair to the design. Creating a story that kept things clean, clever, and packed with character.
Then Cocoon’s animators used motion to bring its story to life. The design that looks great on the shelves on many European markets and makes you want to grab a beer for your next movie night.
